Jonathan Toews will be back in the Blackhawks lineup tonight as Chicago hosts the Los Angeles Kings, the team confirmed this afternoon.
Toews has missed six games because of a concussion after a hit by Vancouver Canucks defenceman Willie Mitchell on Oct. 21. He skated with linemates Dustin Byfuglien and Patrick Sharp on Sunday and worked on the power play unit.
"I'm pretty confident. I felt good on the ice. It didn't take too long to get my conditioning back," Toews told the Chicago Sun-Times after Sunday's practice. "I like to think I can do it all," he added. "I've got my energy back. After a couple weeks off it takes awhile to get your rhythm back, and it definitely feels like it's back."
The Blackawks went 3-2-1 with Toews on the sidelines and their offence plummeted. With Toews playing in the first nine games, Chicago scored 31 goals and they converted seven of 34 power-play chances. Without him in the past six they scored 12 and were only 3-for-27 with the man advantage.
