Sidney Crosby will sit one out on Saturday night.

A groin injury will keep Sidney Crosby out of the lineup on Saturday when the Pittsburgh Penguins host the Chicago Blackhawks.

The groin has been problematic for the Penguins' captain in each of the past three seasons.

"My groin is bothering me a bit. I won't be playing tonight. It's something that's been bothering me for three or four days and I'm going to sit this one out."

Crosby missed five games last season with the same problem:

"When it's getting worse each day, it's not a good sign. I've missed periods of time over the last few years with groin (injuries) and I kind of know when it's time to take a step back and make sure that I'm careful. I feel like I'm at that point."

Crosby had scored 19 goals 29 games for the champions this season.

The Penguins recalled forward Mark Letestu from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the AHL to fill the roster spot.

Letestu, 24, made his NHL debut in the Penguins’ 6-5 overtime victory over the Boston Bruins Nov. 14, and appeared in two games during his previous stint in Pittsburgh.

Letestu has been one of Wilkes-Barre/Scranton’s top scoring threats with 13 points in 14 games. The Elk Point, Alberta native has played the last two-plus seasons in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, finishing third on the team in scoring last season with 61 points on 24 goals and 37 assists in 73 contests.
