Ales Hemsky has undergone successful surgery on his left shoulder. Hemsky had been waiting for the swelling to go down before the surgery could take place. He was injured November 25 against the Los Angeles Kings after he was checked from behind by Michal Handzus.
That was the final straw for the winger who had been dealing with a bad shoulder for weeks prior to that incident. He had already missed a pair of games on Nov.8 and 10th because of the problem.
Hemsky's timeline for a recovery is still 5-6 months. In the 22 games he played this season the 26 year old had seven goals and 15 assists for 22 points.
