TW LW Team Our Take
2 The Caps climb to the top of the NHL standings and then get their lunch handed to them by the lowly Leafs. Go figure.
4 Niclas Bergfors continues to to be one of the most impressive rookies in a very good freshman class.
3 After going pointless in two, Evgeni Malkin fires the game-winner in overtime against Florida.
1 Dany Heatley becomes the fastest Shark ever to hit 20 goals, doing it in 33 games.
7 Anze Kopitar scores in two of three games just as his winger, Ryan Smyth, prepares to rejoin the team.
5 Patrick Kane scores and then leaves the game after bumping his head on the ice in a 4-0 win over Tampa Bay.
9 Three straight 3-2 wins over Calgary pushes them ahead of the Flames.
6 Jarome Iginla is goalless in six games and has just one in his past 10.
12 The Sabres get a two-goal game out of Patrick Kaleta and a win from Patrick Lalime.
8 With potential new owners in sight, the Coyotes reel off seven wins in 10 games.
10 The Bruins have just one regulation loss in 10 games, to the Islanders of all teams.
11 The Predators finally have two scorers with 20 points - Jason Arnott and J.P. Dumont.
17 Todd Bertuzzi scores overtime winners in back-to-back games against Anaheim and Nashville.
14 It took 11 rounds, but Matt Niskanen finally scores the shootout winner against San Jose.
16 Daniel Sedin is riding a six-game points streak with six goals and 11 points.
15 Alex Kovalev fires his first hat trick since 2003 in a 4-2 win over Carolina.
24 The Oilers establish a franchise record with five straight road wins.
13 The Thrashers overcome two deficits to beat Montreal in overtime.
19 After a horrible start the Wild rattles off seven wins in 10 games with little help from Martin Havlat who continues to struggle.
18 The Blues still don't have a goal-scorer in double digits!
21 The Blue Jackets continue to plummet with five losses in six games.
25 Defenceman Marc-Andre Bergeron registers points in four straight games.
28 Dan Sexton scores four goals in his first five NHL games.
20 It took 17 games, but highly-touted prospect Rob Schremp finally nets his first NHL goal.
29 Three points against Washington has Matt Stajan on pace for a career-high 65 points this season.
22 Top point producer Martin St-Louis has just one goal in his past 12 games.
23 Is there a chance with no goals in 17 games and just two in 26 this season Chris Drury will be left off Team USA?
26 With David Booth and Cory Stillman sidelined, the Panthers continue to flounder.
27 The coaching change clearly has not brought about the desired results.
30 Veteran Rod Brind'Amour was a healthy scratch - a sign the Hurricanes have really hit rock bottom.
