Despite being pulled during a lopsided loss in Toronto on Saturday, Brian Elliott is getting the start in goal for the Ottawa Senators against the Calgary Flames tonight.

And while that decision might seem to indicate that Elliott has won the starter's job ahead of Pascal Leclaire, Cory Clouston stopped well short of anointing him as the Senators' number one goalie.

"You can call it whatever you want and put whatever number you want on it. He's starting tonight, but I'm not going to put any label on it," said Clouston.

Elliott was pulled after allowing four goals on 30 shots in two periods of an eventual 5-0 loss at Toronto on Saturday. On Monday, he emphasized that it would be easy to turn the page from the blowout loss.

"I'm just going to try and play the same game that I've been playing and not worry about anything in the past. Today is a new day," Elliott said.

Prior to the loss at Toronto, Elliott had been on a nine-game winning streak, during which he allowed just 11 goals against. He was twice named as an NHL Star of the Week and helped moved the Senators from the fringe of the playoff picture into a battle for first place in the division.

Meantime, Leclaire allowed one goal on seven shots in relief duty of Elliott on Saturday night. He hasn't started a game since January 12th, after being sidelined for most of the past three weeks with a concussion.

Due to various injuries, Leclaire has only appeared in 11 of the Senators last 38 games and he has not posted a win since a 3-2 shootout win over the New York Islanders on December 31st.

The Senators play three more games this week, including back-to-back road games at Detroit and Long Island, before the Olympic break. It's expected that Leclaire will see action in at least one of the games this week.
