Mixed emotions for Senator
February 9, 2010 | Source: Ottawa Sun
It should be a proud moment for Jonathan Cheechoo when it's announced Tuesday night that he is playing the 500th game of his NHL career.
But the hard question is, how many more does the good-guy winger have left in him?
With five goals and eight assists as one of only five Senators to play all 59 games thus far, Cheechoo is the team's 16th-leading scorer. He hasn't recorded a point in the last nine games, and has just two goals in his last 16. He has the worst plus-minus on the team, at minus-11. He is on the fourth line and if the Senators bulk up their lineup by even one forward for the playoffs, he'll almost certainly be sitting in the press box.
