TORONTO -- The National Hockey League Players' Association has tied up another loose end by reaching a resolution with Ian Penny, its former general counsel and interim executive director.

"The parties have resolved all matters regarding Ian Penny's employment with the National Hockey League Players' Association," the NHLPA said in a brief statement Wednesday.

The NHLPA issued almost the exact same statement last month when it settled matters with former executive director Paul Kelly.

Penny left the union in October, while Kelly was dismissed in late August.
