Finally, something to cheer about.

After stumbling through three post-Olympic break games, losing all three (one in a shootout), the Ottawa Senators ended their skid Tuesday night, thanks to a 4-1 win over the Edmonton Oilers, the worst team in the NHL.

The two points were important. They give the Senators 79, the same number as the Buffalo Sabres have atop the Northeast Division. The Sabres have played three fewer games.
