Leafs continue hot streak with win against Canadiens
March 21, 2010 | Source: Toronto Star
Phil Kessel continues to do his part to potentially devalue one of the picks Toronto gave up to get him.
Though the Maple Leafs haven't yet edged up in the standings, they have almost caught a pack of teams ahead of them by winning six of their last seven, the latest a 3-2 victory over Montreal tonight. This was the sixth time in the last 10 games that the young and suddenly competitive Leafs needed either overtime or a shootout. This was their second consecutive games that went to a shootout.
Nikolai Kulemin and John Mitchell both scored in the shootout for the second straight game. Andrei Kostitsyn put one past Jonas Gustavsson who recorded his fifth straight victory.
