Edmonton winger Dustin Penner is day-to-day after suffering a scratched cornea Tuesday night in the Oilers' 5-4 loss to the Detroit Red Wings.
It happened in the first period when a puck that Nicklas Lidstrom was attempting to clear out of his zone deflected off Penner's stick and struck him under the right eye. Penner left the game and did not return.
The team said he will be re-evaluated Wednesday and is listed as day to day.
Penner is the Oilers' top goal-scorer this season with 27 and has played every game this season.
The Oilers play Dallas on Friday.
