Milan Michalek will require season-ending surgery to repair a torn ACL in his left knee he suffered in Game 1 on Wednesday in Pittsburgh.
Michalek was playing with a partially torn ACL from an injury he sustained on March 18 in Atlanta. He tore the ACL completely late in the second period of Wednesday's game.
Michalek will have surgery in two weeks when the swelling goes down. He is expected to make a full recovery and be available for training camp in September.
