CHICAGO -- For Jonathan Toews, the time is now.

Time for him to become a factor in this series, or move over and watch the Flyers carry the Stanley Cup around the Wachovia Center Wednesday night. Time for him to fulfill the job description that comes with having the "C" sewn on to your sweater, and turn this ship around for his Blackhawks.

"We've got to believe it's ours. It truly is, and we've got to find a way to go out and take it," Toews said. "As a team, we have to look at each other and find a little extra something there. We know we have got more as a team. We haven't got to that level yet."

Toews, who has just one assist, said he wasn't happy with his own production thus far. But with the swing game set for tonight, Captain Serious had the sound of a guy who is ready to ply those leadership qualities Canadians have seen from him every since his junior days.

"It's in our control, and if we want it badly enough we'll go get it," he said. "We've got to find a way to do it tonight. There is no more time to waste. It's time to bring everything we've got."

History? Shhh...

It can be easy to get caught up in what could be a memorable story penned by the Flyers, if they can win two of the next three games.

A seventh-place team. One that only made the playoffs after winning in a shootout on the final day of the regular season. Then they became only the third team in NHL history to come back from a 3-0 series deficit, against Boston.

But even the Flyers players have to step back once in a while and remember, the story falls flat if they don't get the job finished.

"You prepare all summer, then the exhibition games," winger Scott Hartnell said. "Then it's the most important games of the year. We're down to three games.

"You can't get ahead of yourself. It's the biggest no-no to do mentally, to think it's going to be easy, or 'We're going to make history.' Right now we're tied 2-2 against a great hockey team. Both cities are desperate for a hockey championship.

"Hopefully the fans in Philadelphia are going to be happy once this series is over."

Prodigious power play

One place Philadelphia has mastered the Hawks in this series is with the man advantage. Their 31.3 per cent success rate in this final is verging on historic.

Here's a list the best power play percentages in finals history, courtesy Sportsnet reporter Ian Mendes:

1988 Oilers*, 8-for-25 (32%)

2010 Flyers, 5-for-16 (31.3%)

2009 Penguins*, 4-for-14 (28.6%)

2004 Flames, 6-for-24 (25%)

1992 Penguins*, 4-for-16 (25%)

1996 Avalanche*, 4-for-16 (25%)

* Won Stanley Cup

Philly flu

How long has it been since the Chicago Blackhawks won a game at the Wachovia Center?

Well, Tony Amonte and Gary Suter each had a goal and an assist in the win. Alexei Zhamnov had two assists, and Jeff Hackett was the winning goalie.

It was Nov. 9, 1996 -- and the Flyers have owned Chicago ever since, winning the last 10 meetings on Broad St. Not a single player on the current Chicago was roster was in the NHL in November of '96.

Ironically, Chicago could still win the Stanley Cup and keep that skein intact.
