With no more hockey left to be played between the Chicago Blackhawks and Philadelphia Flyers, one player took it as an opportunity for an airing of grievances.
Adam Burish, interviewed just minutes after the Blackhawks claimed its first Cup in 49 years, let everyone know how he really feels about Philadelphia Flyers defenceman Chris Pronger.
"I think Chris Pronger is the biggest idiot in the league, I can't stand the guy one bit," Burish told the interviewer. "I hope I never have to see him again, but if I see him out there I might punch him."
Already on a roll, Burish was asked if he had seen the depiction of Pronger in a figure-skating outfit printed on the eve of Game 6 by the Chicago Tribune.
"I didn't see it, but it is perfect. He should have worn it out here tonight, he was terrible."
Pronger was plus-1 in the Game 6 loss, told sportsnet.ca that making friends on the ice is far from the veteran's list of priorities:
"I could care less what somebody on another team says about me. I don't play this game to make friends," Pronger said. "I play to win."
