Off-season conditioning continues to go well for unrestricted free agent defenceman Willie Mitchell, who is coming off a concussion suffered in mid-January after being run from behind by Evgeni Malkin.
Mitchell, who has been symptom free while training and skating hard for the better part of three weeks, has upwards of 12 teams interested in his services.
The Port McNeill, B.C., native has narrowed it down to four teams including the Canucks; the other teams are believed to be the Red Wings, Sharks and Capitals.
NOTES: The Bruins are expected to officially sign second-overall pick Tyler Seguin to a max entry-level contract in the coming days as they get their cap issues sorted out ... ... Jerry Reinsdorf appears to be back in the picture to potentially acquire the Phoenix Coyotes. Ice Edge Holdings is still talking with the City of Glendale about the long-term lease of Jobing.com Arena, but a source close to the negotiations confirmed the city is also talking with three other parties including Reinsdorf; a city representative said last week Ice Edge was having difficulty proving they had sufficient financial backing.
