The Chicago Blackhawks have signed winger Fernando Pisani to a one-year, $500,000 contract.

The deal is believed to be a one-way contract.

Pisani spent his first seven seasons in the National Hockey League with the Edmonton Oilers, the team that drafted him back in 1996.

His best offensive regular season came back in 2005-06, when he played in 80 games, scored 18 goals and recorded 37 points. During Edmonton's remarkable Stanley Cup run shortly thereafter, Pisani recorded 14 goals in 24 playoff games.
