Pronger not pushing it

Veteran Chris Pronger of the Philadelphia Flyers does not have a set timetable for his return to the ice.
"It’s getting better, but Rome wasn’t built in a day," said the Philadelphia Flyers defenceman. "I had a strength test Wednesday and it still needs to get stronger before I can skate."
Pronger, 35, said he is taking daily rehab which include 35-40 minutes of cardio work. He said he doesn’t want to rush his rehabilitation for fear that it could have a negative effect on his being able to start the season.
"I don’t see the point of pushing it," Pronger said. "I’d rather do it properly so it doesn’t become an on-going problem during the year."
The 6-foot-6, 220-pounder was the Flyers third-leading scorer last season with 10 goals and 55 points in 82 games and then played superbly in the playoffs helping Philadelphia make it to the Stanley Cup final after the team qualified for the playoffs on the final day of the regular season winning a shootout against the New York Rangers.
