Dallas Stars forward Jeri Lehtinen is ready to retire, according to an online report.

Lehtinen, 37, has participated in Stars training camp this summer and last week met with Stars CEO Joe Nieuwendyk to discuss his future.

Lehtinen was a part of the Stars team that won the Stanley Cup in 1999 and has been recognized as one of the league’s top defensive forwards, having been a multiple winner of the Frank J. Selke trophy.
