Veteran defenceman Roman Hamrlik has been cleared to return to the Montreal Canadiens' lineup in time for their home opener against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Wednesday night.

Hamrlik, who missed all of training camp with a knee injury, is expected to be paired up with Ryan O'Byrne. Alexandre Picard, who filled in during Hamrlik's absence, will be a healthy scratch.

Andrei Markov, the only player remaining on the Canadiens' injured list, continues to practice with the team. No timetable has been set for his return however head coach Jacques Martin confirmed he will be back before the end of the month.
