Philadelphia Flyers defenceman Chris Pronger is expected to miss 4-6 weeks after undergoing surgery to repair a broken bone in his right foot on Friday afternoon.

The veteran defenceman suffered the injury in a 5-3 victory over the Montreal Canadiens Wednesday night. Pronger was hit with a shot and didn't play in the third period.

The 36-year-old, who underwent knee surgery in the off-season, has four goals and 15 points in 31 games.
