Montreal Canadiens forward Michael Cammalleri was back on the ice during Monday's practice. It was his first full practice since separating his shoulder on Jan. 18.

Although he's feeling better, Cammalleri isn't ready to resume play.

"I don't think so. Not yet" Cammalleri said. "No contact but it was nice to be out there to get some timing back."

The Richmond Hill native will miss his 11th consecutive game Tuesday when the Buffalo Sabres are in town. He was hoping he'd be done rehabbing by now.

"At first we had to figure what the injury was. Once we did that, I realized it would be longer than we originally thought."

Despite the fact no timetable has been set for his return, Cammalleri is hoping he'll get the green light in time for Saturday's Heritage Classic in Calgary.

"It really depends on how the body reacts. I'd love to play in that game."

Cammalleri has 13 goals and 18 assists in 44 games this season.

NOTES:

Hal Gill skated alone on Monday. He has missed two games with an upper body injury. He's listed as day-to-day and won't play on Tuesday ... Mathieu Darche, who missed two games with a lower body injury, was taking regular shifts on the third line. He is expected to play against Buffalo.

QUOTES:

P.K. Subban on the fact several players have criticized him: "It doesn't affect me at all. I just go play. I'm a rookie in this league. No one should be worried about me right? I just want to play for my team." ... Scott Gomez on Mario Lemieux comments following the disciplinary measures this weekend: "It's not good when Mario says he doesn't want to be part of our game. He's one of the reasons our sport is so popular. At the same time after the Boston game, whether you like it or not, hockey was a buzz."
