The St. Louis Blues have signed defenseman Danny Syvret to a one-year contract.
Syvret, 26, spent last season with the American Hockey League's (AHL) Syracuse Crunch and Adirondack Phantom, tallying 40 points (10 goals, 30 assists) in 59 games. The 5'11", 203-pound defenseman also played in 10 games combined with the Philadelphia Flyers and Anaheim Ducks, registering two points (one goal, one assist) and six penalty minutes. Syvret has appeared in 59 National Hockey League (NHL) games between Edmonton, Philadelphia and Anaheim, compiling seven points (three goals, four assists) along with 30 penalty minutes.
The Millgrove, Ontario native was originally drafted by Edmonton in the third round, 81st overall, of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
