Alex Auld will make his first start of the season for the Ottawa Senators on Saturday night when they visit the Washington Capitals.

Craig Anderson, who surrendered all seven goals during a 7-1 loss on Thursday night, had started the first four games of the season.

While Anderson has allowed 19 goals so far this season, head coach Paul MacLean refused to say that his poor play led to Auld's start on Saturday.

"It's just Alex's time," MacLean told reporters.

Auld has made one appearance this season, coming in relief of Anderson in the third period of a 6-5 loss at Toronto on Oct. 8.
