TAMPA, Fla. -- Tom Pyatt has a little more job security after signing a two-year extension with the Tampa Bay Lightning.
The 24-year-old forward is under contract through the 2013-14 season.
Pyatt has three goals and five points in 35 games this season, his first with the Lightning. He's used primarily in a checking role by the team.
Pyatt spent parts of the last two seasons in Montreal before signing a US$525,000, one-year deal as a free agent in July.
In 136 career NHL games with Montreal and Tampa, he has seven goals and 17 points.
