Edmonton Oilers forward Jordan Eberle will miss the next 2-3 weeks with a sprained right knee.

Eberle injured his knee during Saturday's 4-1 loss to Dallas after getting tangled up with Stars forward Jamie Benn early in the game.

The 21-year-old underwent an MRI on Monday afternoon and on Tuesday said he hopes to be back in the Oilers lineup before the NHL All-star break.

In 41 games this season, Eberle leads the Oilers in goals with 17 and points with 43.

The Oilers are a banged up club right now. Star rookie Ryan Nugent-Hopkins is out with a separated shoulder, defencemen Ryan Whitney is on the shelf with an ankle injury and Tom Gilbert is also out with knee and ankle injuries.

On Monday, the Oilers recalled forwards Magnus Paajarvi and Ryan O'Marra from the American Hockey League. The team also recalled Gilbert Brule, but the forward was claimed on re-entry waivers by the Phoenix Coyotes.

Paajarvi practiced on the Oilers third line on Tuesday, while O'Marra centred the team's fourth line.

The Oilers host the New Jersey Devils on Wednesday.
