Replay of the Day: Let’s pretend for a moment that New York Rangers sniper Marian Gaborik did not beat Phoenix Coyotes goaltender Mike Smith later in the game’s shootout during a must-score attempt. Let’s pretend for a moment that the Rangers did not win the game 2-1, continuing their dominance of the league.

Instead, let’s just enjoy Smith’s sprawling reach-back paddle save on Gaborik, which occurred with only 1:50 remaining in overtime. Although Henrik Lundqvist, a beast in shootouts (NHL-leading 39 wins in those situations), got the W, Smith actually made 13 more saves than his counterpart.
