Thornton vs. Vancouver columnist
You know when someone puts you on speakerphone without your knowledge? That’s sort what happened to Vancouver columnist Tony Gallagher of The Province. Except on air.
As the Vancouver hockey writer criticizes Boston Bruins winger Shawn Thornton on Comcast SportsNet’s Sticks and Stones, Thornton himself sits in studio listening to the whole rant.
After Gallagher questions Thornton’s “unethical” decision to challenge Vancouver Canucks winger Dale Weise to a fight during Saturday’s big game, host Mike Felger informs him that Thornton is right here, ready to respond.
Watch the verbal sparring below. And it should be noted that although Gallagher claims that Thornton outweighs Weiss by “about 40 pounds,” playing the pick-on-someone-your-own-size card, Thornton, 34, is listed as 6’2”, 217 pounds. Weise, 23, is listed at 6’2”, 210 pounds.
Seriously: How bad do you want to see a Canucks-Bruins Stanley Cup Finals do-over?
