VANCOUVER -- The Vancouver Canucks recalled defenceman Chris Tanev from the American Hockey League's Chicago Wolves on Wednesday.

Tanev, 22, has played 25 games with the Wolves this season and recorded 12 assists with a plus-5 rating. He has also appeared in three games with the Canucks.

The Toronto native has appeared in 32 career games and five playoff games with the Canucks. In 2010-11 he registered 32 blocked shots in the regular season and added 11 in the playoffs.

The six-foot, 185-pound defenceman was signed by Vancouver on May 31, 2010.
