DALLAS -- The Dallas Stars reached a four-year, US$18.4-million contract extension with defenceman Alex Goligoski on Monday.

The deal keeps Goligoski with Minnesota through the 2015-16 season.

The 26-year-old Goligoski is in his fourth NHL season and his second with the Stars. He leads the team with 22:34 minutes played per game.

He was acquired from Pittsburgh in February 2011. His current deal had been set to expire this summer.
