Malkin keeps puck on string: watch
Washington Capitals defenseman John Carlson checks Evgeni Malkin but cannot stop No. 71 from putting on another show.
Replay of the Day: So the Pittsburgh Penguins are missing the best inactive player in the National Hockey League. Good thing they have the best active player in the NHL suiting up for them on a nightly basis.
The Pens’ other star centre, Evgeni Malkin, makes about five slippery moves with the puck before passing off to a teammate, then jamming in the overtime winner to defeat the Washington Capitals on Sunday.
Malkin’s 58th point of the season extends his NHL lead to three over Claude Giroux and extends the Crosby-free Pens’ winning streak to six.
