NEW YORK -- Pittsburgh Penguins centre Evgeni Malkin was named the NHL's first star of the week Monday after recording a league-leading seven points last week.
Philadelphia Flyers left-winger Scott Hartnell picked up the second star and New York Islanders goaltender Evgeni Nabokov was the third star.
Malkin recorded seven points (five goals, two assists) and a plus-six rating to help the Penguins win four straight games last week.
Hartnell had six goals over that stretch. Nabokov posted a 3-0-0 record last week with one shutout, a 0.65 goals-against average and .978 save percentage.
