Boll, Boulton fined $2,500
Jared Boll was fined for an illegal check to the head of San Jose Sharks forward Joe Thornton 20 seconds into the first period of Tuesday's game.

NEW YORK -- The NHL fined New Jersey Devils forward Eric Boulton and Columbus Blue Jackets forward Jared Boll US$2,500 for separate incidents Wednesday.
Boulton was slapped with the fine for a slash on New York Rangers forward Mike Rupp at 2:34 of the second period in Tuesday's game. No penalty was assessed on the play.
Boll, meanwhile, was fined for an illegal check to the head of San Jose Sharks forward Joe Thornton 20 seconds into the first period of Tuesday's game. Boll received a minor penalty.
The fine money, the maximum allowed under the league's collective bargaining agreement, goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.
