Replay of the Day: Happy Groundhog Day.

Could it be more appropriate that on Groundhog Day we essentially have poor goaltenders living out the same nightmare in back-to-back nights?

Yesterday’s Replay of the Day featured Ottawa’s Craig Anderson allowing a goal on Dennis Seidenberg’s centre-ice shot. And today’s Replay of the Day is exactly the same, only slightly different. On Feb. 2, Michal Neuvirth will awake wishing he could play this long-range dump-in over again.

Even with the disastrous angle and beyond-the-blue-line distance, Florida Panthers winger Mikael Samuelsson opens the scoring Wednesday night in a crucial divisional match-up against the Ovechkin-free Washington Capitals. Florida would go on to win 4-2.

No word if Bill Murray was in attendance.
