Report: Nielsen re-ups with Isles
Frans Nielson has 9 goals and 16 assists in 51 games this season with the Islanders.
The New York Islanders have reportedly re-signed centre Frans Nielsen to a four-year contract worth $11 million.
Nielsen was set to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1 and was also rumoured to be a hot commodity around the Feb. 27 trade deadline had he remained unsigned.
The Islanders are expected to make an official announcement on Wednesday.
The 27-year-old has nine goals and 16 assists in 51 games with the Islanders this season.
The Herning, Denmark native led the league in shorthanded goals last season with seven.
