According to sportsnet.ca’s Nick Kypreos, another defenceman may be off the trading block as Andy Sutton and the Edmonton Oilers have presumably agreed to a one-year deal in the region of $1.75 million.

Sutton has scored three goals and nine points in 32 games so far in his first season with the Oilers.

The veteran defenceman has played a total of 656 games over 13 seasons with the San Jose Sharks, Minnesota Wild, Atlanta Thrashers, New York Islanders, Ottawa Senators, Anaheim Ducks, and Edmonton Oilers.
