Now that our neighbours to the south have digested their Thanksgiving turkey and Detroit Lions game, the focus has shifted to the next midday holiday feast: the 2014 Winter Classic.
NBC kicked off its promotion of the New Year’s Day showdown between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Detroit Red Wings by launching its first television commercial for the outdoor event to be held at Michigan’s Big House.
The 30-second spot, which debuted during Black Friday’s Bruins-Rangers matinee, focuses on the fans and hypes up “the biggest hockey game ever played” by dividing the 109,901-seat Big House down the middle, half wearing red, half blue.
