NEW YORK – The AHL will begin an education and drug-testing program this season that will “substantially replicate” the one already in place for NHL players, the leagues announced.
The program was put together by the NHL, AHL, NHL Players’ Association and Professional Hockey Players’ Association and follows the NHL’s CBA.
The doctors who supervise the NHL/NHLPA performance-enhancing substances program and the substance abuse/behavioural health program will also administer this one.
