Toronto Marlies forward Nazem Kadri snapped out of his early-season struggles last week to earn AHL player of the week honours.

The Maple Leafs prospect scored two goals and added six assists in four games last week to bring his point total on the year to 14 in as many games.

Kadri struggled to start the season with no goals and three assists in his first nine games before being a healthy scratch against Texas Nov. 9. The 22-year-old responded with two goals and 11 points in five games after getting scratched.

Toronto’s seventh overall pick in 2009, Kadri is now tied for sixth in league scoring and first on the Marlies (Keith Aucoin, Mike Kostka).

The London, Ont., native scored 18 goals and 40 points with the Marlies last season to go along with seven points in 21 games with the Maple Leafs.
