Key notes: Anze Kopitar (1G, even, 2 PIM, 18:56 TOI, 2:17 PP, 1:11 PK, 2 SOG, 10-7 FO for 59%) had six points in his three November starts coming into tonight and 27 points in 17 GP before striking for more here. The 11th overall pick from 2005 seems to finally be blossoming from a good player into a great one, although we're still really early in the season. Real greatness is all about sustaining that level of play, so only time will tell. Can't argue with the results to date though.
Justin Williams (1A, even, 15:32 TOI, 1:10 PP, no PK, 2 SOG) has thrived on the first line this year while being mostly healthy and he had five points in five games before tonight. Drew Doughty (1A, +1, 24:00 TOI, 3:27 PP, 1:04 PK, no SOG) had 27 points in his rookie campaign and he entered this outing with 14 in 17 GP.
Top PP times (LOS): Doughty (3:27), Smyth (2:24), Kopitar (2:17), Brown (2:17) and Stoll (1:53)
Top PP times (CHI): Keith (2:38), Sharp (2:25), Kopecky (2:02), Campbell (2:01) and Byfuglien (2:00)
Jonathan Toews (1G, -1, 19:09 TOI, 1:57 PP, 0:35 PK, 1 SOG, 13-7 FO for 65%) missed time with a concussion, but was back in the line-up tonight and he scored a timely third period goal with a great effort. Patrick Kane (1, +1, 17:07 TOI, 1:31 PP, no PK, 1 SOG) is currently enjoying a four-game point streak, but entered this one with one goal in 10 tries.
Duncan Keith (2A, even, 22:18 TOI, 2:38 PP, 2:22 PK, no SOG) has points back-to-back after having only one in five. John Madden (1G, +1, 2 PIM, 14:47 TOI, 0:24 PP, 1:03 PK, 4 SOG, 6-11 FO for 35%) stopped a five-game pointless skid here, while Troy Brouwer (1G, 2A, +1, 14:49 TOI, 1:28 PP, 1:14 PK, 2 SOG) had gone four without a point. His last assist had actually been October 10th though, with three other goals accounting for his entire season's production.
Patrick Sharp (2A, +1, 18:58 TOI, 2:25 PP, 0:49 PK, 4 SOG) had 17 points in 12 GP vs. LOS coming in here and he has points in three of four after having one in six. Andrew Ebbett (1G, +1, 12:48 TOI, 0:12 PP, no PK, 3 SOG, 5-6 FO for 45%) has now started eight games for the Hawks and tonight was his first offensive contribution. Brian Campbell (1A, +1, 24:37 TOI, 2:01 PP, 0:40 PK, 1 SOG) has helpers in two of three after six without a point.
