With 18- and 19-year-old talent scattered like flecks of confetti at the NHL Draft, you would think that the balance of power in the Eastern Conference would shift in the short run. Not so.
With Alberta teams drafting high, maybe the worm will turn, and the power base that lies today in California will one day reside out West in Canada. Perhaps that transformation started on Friday.
