BARRIE, Ont. -- Jeff Skinner scored twice on the power play as the Ontario Hockey League all-stars downed the undisciplined Russian Selects 5-2 in the third game of the Super Series on Thursday night.
The Kitchener Rangers centre opened the scoring at 10:51 of the first on the man advantage and added his second of the game at 13:44 of the third.
The Russians gave the OHL all-stars 13 power plays, with Taylor Beck also scoring on the man advantage.
After Skinner gave the OHL a 1-0 lead after the first period, Maxim Kitsyn and Maxim Karpov scored inside six minutes of the second to put the Russians in front 2-1.
Beck tied the game at 9:06 of the second and Greg Nemisz gave the Ontario all-stars the lead for good just under four minutes later.
Tyler Toffoli scored at 15:41 of the third to make it 5-2.
The Russians, who finished 0-for-4 on the power play, lost the first two games of the series to the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League all-stars, 3-1 on Monday and 8-3 on Wednesday.
Peter Di Salvo allowed two goals on 12 shots in the Ontario net, before being replaced by Michael Hutchinson in the second period.
Hutchinson made seven saves the rest of the way to pick up the win.
Ramis Sadikov played the entire game for the Russians, stopping 40 shots in defeat.
The Ontario all-stars and the Russians Selects meet again in Game 4 of the series Monday in Windsor, Ont.
