The Windsor Spitfires have acquired forward Zack Kassian from the Peterborough Petes, sources tell Sportsnet.
In exchange for Kassian, the Peterborough Petes have acquired sophomore forward Austin Watson, a second-round pick in 2012 and a second-round pick in 2014.
Kassian, the 13th overall pick by Buffalo in last summer's NHL entry draft, is from nearby LaSalle, Ont. He will add to the defending Memorial Cup champions already potent offensive attack.
The move comes two days after the Barrie Colts acquired Canadian world junior defenceman Alex Pietrangelo.
Watson was a second-round pick by the Spitfires in 2008.
He is projected to be a late first-round or an early second-round pick in this summer's NHL entry draft.
