Canadian world junior forward Luke Adam continued terrorizing QMJHL goaltenders with another impressive performance. Meanwhile, elite inter-conference match-ups litter the week ahead in the Canadian Hockey League.

Québec Major Junior Hockey League

Hot team: Drummondville Voltigeurs

The defending league champion Voltigeurs regained top spot in the Telus Central Division standings. Drummondville beat Victoriaville twice, the team they're competing with for the division crown, while also blowing out the Québec Remparts, 8-2. The Voltigeurs won their last seven consecutive games and nine of their last 10.

Hot player: Luke Adam, Cape Breton Screaming Eagles

Adam was one of many streaking Screaming Eagles. The power-forward scored three times and assisted on four more for seven points in three games with an impressive plus-8 rating. He scored the game-winner over Halifax on Friday and is now 10 points back of Moncton's Nicolas Deschamps for the league scoring race.

Cold team: Gatineau Olympiques

The Olympiques knew they would be hard-pressed to score after dealing forward Alexandre Quesnel in a huge trade with Val-d'Or. However, Gatineau is riding a seven-game losing streak and has scored more than two goals just once during those losses. The Olympiques trail the Montreal Juniors by four points for second in the Telus Western Division.

Cold player: Mikhail Stefanovich, Québec Remparts

The Toronto Maple Leafs prospect was held to one assist in two games and a minus-2 rating. Stefanovich is known as a very streaky scorer and couldn't find his scoring touch in a shortened week. He is averaging 1.26 points per game as an overage forward, but on some nights could admittedly be more dominant.

Game of the week: Saint John Sea Dogs vs. Rouyn-Noranda Huskies, Saturday

The league's top team, the Sea Dogs, will make the long trip north to Rouyn-Noranda. The Huskies learned on Friday the league denied their appeal and would be without suspended forward Patrice Cormier for the rest of the season and playoffs. Rouyn-Noranda is still a dangerous team without Cormier, and will have its best test in measuring themselves against the Sea Dogs. Saint John is winners of eight of their last 10 games and in the driver's seat to acquire home ice through the playoffs.

Ontario Hockey League

Hot team: London Knights

The surging Knights are keeping things interesting in the Western Conference. London racked up another three wins to make it eight in a row and hold a commanding nine-point lead over Kitchener for the Midwest Division. The Knights continue to trail the defending Memorial Cup champion Windsor Spitfires by seven points for first in the conference standings.

Hot player: Tyler Peters, Sarnia Sting

Sarnia's 20-year-old rookie was instrumental in helping break his team's 17-game losing streak. Peters scored four goals and five assists in four games and was a plus-3. He scored the insurance marker in Sarnia's first win of 2010 over Sudbury on Monday then put away the game-winner against Owen Sound on Friday.

Cold team: Peterborough Petes

The margin for losses shrunk, but the Petes were not able to break out of their slump last week. Peterborough lost its last six games after another three defeats last week. Home ice advantage in the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs is still attainable, but Peterborough will need to turn it around quickly as they trail Kingston, the No. 4 seed, by eight points with eight games remaining.

Cold player: John Moore, Kitchener Rangers

The first-round pick of the Columbus Blue Jackets struggled mightily last week. In three games, Moore had a goal and an assist which was overshadowed by his ghastly minus-10 rating. He was on the ice for nine of the 10 goals scored against in the final two games against Owen Sound and Oshawa.

Game of the week: London Knights vs. Barrie Colts, Thursday

The Knights will put their league-leading winning streak on the line when they face the league's top team. Barrie overtook Windsor in the point-race after an impressive home ice win over the Spitfires. A win over the Colts would help prove the legitimacy of the Knights' potential this season. It will be a homecoming for Knights goaltender Michael Hutchinson, who was traded from his hometown Colts to London in the summer. The Colts acquired an import pick in the trade, and used it to select Russian forward Alexander Burmistrov.

Western Hockey League

Hot team: Spokane Chiefs

The U.S. Division is as cluttered as ever at the top as the Spokane Chiefs continued their ascension. Spokane won all four contests last week to extend its winning-streak to seven games. The most important win came Saturday in Tri-City against the division and Western Conference-leading Americans. Spokane is now just five points back of Tri-City.

Hot player: Jay Fehr, Brandon Wheat Kings

The overage forward helped lead the potent attack for the Memorial Cup host Wheat Kings. Fehr scored twice and assisted on six more for eight points in three games. Teammate Toni Rajala was also red-hot with eight points in as many games. Brandon is tied atop the Eastern Conference standings with Saskatoon and Calgary with 88 points.

Cold team: Prince George Cougars

The forgetful season continued for the Cougars who have accumulated a CHL-low 25 points this season. Prince George lost all three road games on their Alberta road swing to extend the losing-streak to five games. The Cougars have little more than pride to play for in their remaining 12 games.

Cold player: Ryan Johansen, Portland Winterhawks

The potential first-round pick in this summer's draft was held off the scoresheet in three games and was a minus-4. Johansen is one of the bright surprises in the league this season. He has had a tendency to be streaky at times, as he had been held without a point in three-consecutive games on three previous occasions.

Game of the week: Vancouver Giants vs. Brandon Wheat Kings, Tuesday

The last WHL team to host the Memorial Cup heads to this year's tournament stomping grounds for their only visit of the season. Vancouver has a stranglehold on the B.C. Division this season and will likely finish second in the Western Conference. The Giants passed a huge test with a road win in Saskatoon last week and will be in tough once again in Brandon. The Wheat Kings are firing on every cylinder offensively of late and receiving contributions from many different players.
