CALGARY -- Jeff Bosch made 48 saves to lead the Moose Jaw Warriors to a 4-1 win over the top ranked Calgary Hitmen in the lone Western Hockey League playoff game Thursday.

The Warriors took a 1-0 lead in their Eastern Conference opening round best-of-seven series against the Hitmen, who finished atop the WHL standings with a 52-17-3 record.

Jason Bast and Antonin Honejsek each had a goal and an assist for the Warriors, who beat the favoured Hitmen despite being outshot 50-16.

Chad Suer and Thomas Frazee also scored for the Warriors, who finished 29 points behind the Hitmen in eighth spot in the East with a 33-27-12 record.

Matt MacKenzie and Brandon Kozun each had a goal and an assist for the Hitmen, who will host Game 2 of the series on Saturday night at the Pengrowth Saddledome. Misha Fisenko helped set up both Hitmen goals.

Calgary goalie Martin Jones made 12 saves in a losing cause. The Warriors failed to record a shot on net in the third period.
