Niagara IceDogs defenceman Dougie Hamilton has been suspended for 10 games, the Ontario Hockey League announced on Thursday.

Hamilton received the suspension for a shot to the head of Sudbury Wolves forward Michael MacDonald in Niagara's 5-2 win over the Wolves on Jan. 13.

The 18-year-old, who played for Canada at the world junior hockey championship, has 50 points in 34 games with the IceDogs this season.
