Eleven is now the Saint John Sea Dogs' magical number.

It represents the amount of consecutive games won and the total games remaining in their schedule.

Thanks in part to a record-setting goaltender and perhaps the most dynamic offence in junior hockey, the Sea Dogs are the title contenders many predicted they would be after capturing last year's MasterCard Memorial Cup.

Québec Major Junior Hockey League

Hot team: Saint John Sea Dogs

Although there was just one game on their schedule last week, the Sea Dogs stormed out to an early lead then coasted against Québec on Friday Night Hockey. It was Saint John's 11th consecutive victory, dating back to a rare loss to Shawinigan on Jan. 12. With the Sea Dogs playing so dominantly, one can't help but wonder if they'll lose again in the final 11 games this season.

Cold team:P.E.I. Rocket

Just as quickly as they began challenging for the last playoff spot, the Rocket are now seeing it just as quickly slip away. Despite closing out a four-game homestand, the Rocket failed to win a game and extended their losing streak to five. P.E.I. trails Rouyn-Noranda by four points for the final playoff spot with 11 games left in each team's schedule.

Game of the week: P.E.I. Rocket vs. Rouyn-Noranda Huskies, Friday

This will be a make or break week for the Rocket in their bid to make the playoffs. If P.E.I. is going to make the post-season, it will need a big week with games against the Huskies and Val-d'Or Foreurs, two teams near the bottom of the standings and both winnable contests. For the Huskies, a regulation win could be a near deathblow to the Rocket since they won their first meeting and would hold the tiebreaker. A six-point gap combined with the loss of the tiebreaker could be too much for the Rocket to overcome in the final weeks.

Canadian NHL team's QMJHL prospects:

Jakub Culek, Rimouski (Senators) -- drafted 76th overall in 2010

Culek has seemingly caught fire in the month of February after going pointless in January. In three games last week, Culek scored twice and had two assists. His 32 points this season are still 15 shy of the 47 he registered two years ago.

Jérémie Blain, Victoriaville (Oilers) -- drafted 91st overall in 2010

For the first time since joining the Tigres in January, Blain failed to pick up a point in four straight games. The offensive defenceman also had a -1 rating on the week, but is still averaging more than a point per game in a Tigres uniform.

David Honzik, Victoriaville (Canucks) -- drafted 71st overall in 2011

Consistency continues to plague the second-year goaltender from the Czech Republic. He saw action in three of his team's games last week, allowing seven goals on 56 shots for a .875 save percentage. His overall numbers were marginally better last season.

Alexandre Grenier, Halifax (Canucks) -- drafted 90th overall in 2011

After going pointless against Rimouski on Thursday, Grenier closed out the week with a goal in each of his last two games. He's averaging more than a point per game with 55 in 53 games this season.

Ontario Hockey League

Hot team: Kingston Frontenacs

The playoffs may long be gone for the Frontenacs, but the young squad isn't proving to be an easy win down the stretch. The Frontenacs won both games last week, including a 9-3 pasting over Erie, to extend their streak to three games. They're unbeaten in regulation in their last six games, but will still likely be picking second in the draft.

Cold team:Kitchener Rangers

The Rangers are slipping with losses in each of their last three games, two of which were last week. Kitchener now won't likely be able to catch London, whom they trail by 11 points, for the top spot in the Western Conference standings, but does hold a large enough gap with 11 points over fourth-place Owen Sound. The Rangers have won just five of their last 10 games and will surely search for consistency down the final stretch.

Game of the week: London Knights vs. Ottawa 67's, Sunday

The league-leading Knights will make the trip to the nation's capital for the first of two meetings between these two teams in the next two weeks. The Knights' 85 points is tops in the league, nine points ahead of the 67's, who are one point back of Niagara for first in the Eastern Conference standings. This will be a good test for both teams, particularly the 67's who will get to see how well they stack up against another contender without injured forward John McFarland.

Canadian NHL team's OHL prospects:

Ivan Telegin, Barrie (Jets) -- drafted 101st overall in 2010

Telegin enjoyed one of his most productive weeks of the season with three goals and two assists and a plus-5 rating in two games. He scored insurance goals in both wins over Kitchener and Oshawa.

Sam Carrick, Brampton (Maple Leafs) -- drafted 144th overall in 2010

Carrick's touch around the net is helping him cash in this season. In two games last week, he had two goals and two assists with a plus-3 rating. He scored at least one goal in each of his last four games, his longest scoring streak this season.

Mark Scheifele, Barrie (Jets) -- drafted seventh overall in 2011

Scheifele is showing signs of returning to his old form since sputtering following the world juniors. In two games last week, he scored once and picked up one assist with a plus-2. Although he's producing more points per game this season, he won't likely eclipse the 75 he set last season.

Josh Leivo, Sudbury (Maple Leafs) -- drafted 86th overall in 2011

The Maple Leafs may have caught lightning in a bottle with the underrated Leivo. In three games last week, he scored twice and had four assists for six points. Leivo is now second in scoring on the Wolves with 58 points in 53 games.

Western Hockey League

Hot team: Portland Winterhawks

The Winterhawks are surging towards the top of the pack in the Western Conference and overall league standings. Portland won its last six games and nine of the past 10 to tie the Tri-City Americans for second in conference standings. The Winterhawks now trail Kamloops by just three points for first in the West and league standings. Their last loss came on Feb. 4, a 3-2 decision against Vancouver.

Cold team:Prince Albert Raiders

There's hardly anything left but pride to play for in Prince Albert these days. The cellar-dwelling Raiders are losers of their last eight games and haven't won since the first day of February. Although few of the losses had been blowouts, there were two humbling defeats in Brandon on the weekend by 6-1 and 6-2 scores. Prince Albert is tied for the fewest points in league standings with Prince George at 40.

Game of the week: Kootenay Ice vs. Saskatoon Blades, Friday

The Blades will host the defending Ed Chynoweth Cup champion Ice in the final regular season tilt between these two teams on Friday Night Hockey. Kootenay leads the season series 2-1 and heads into the week with a one-point cushion over Saskatoon in the Eastern Conference standings. Much is left to be determined in the playoff picture, including home ice advantage. Both these teams are in the race to finish in the top four as the fifth- and sixth-place teams. This could very well be a first-round playoff matchup.

Canadian NHL team's WHL prospects:

Martin Marincin, Regina (Oilers) -- drafted 46th overall in 2010

Marincin took charge offensively for the Pats last week with two goals and four assists in four games. His first goal of the week stood as the winner in his team's second game, a 3-1 win in Medicine Hat. He has 31 points in 47 games this season.

Michael Ferland, Brandon (Flames) -- drafted 133rd overall in 2010

Ferland continued terrorizing goaltenders in the month of February with one of the best single-week performances in all of junior hockey last week. In four games, Ferland scored nine goals and four assists for 13 points and a plus-9 rating. Two of his nine goals were game-winners.

Mark Stone, Brandon (Senators) -- drafted 178th overall in 2010

Stone hit the century-mark for the second-consecutive season after a red-hot performance last week. Stone scored just twice, but had nine assists for 11 points and a plus-8 last week.

Patrick Holland, Tri-City (Canadiens) -- drafted 193rd overall in 2010 (acquired in trade with Flames)

Holland's playmaking savvy continued last week as he assisted on eight of his team's 15 goals in four games. His 60 assists are a career-high, but his 20 goals remains two shy of his best output from last season.

Sven Baertschi, Portland (Flames) -- drafted 13th overall in 2011

The Flames' first-round pick is certainly not feeling any lingering effects from a concussion at the world juniors. Baertschi scored twice and had six assists for eight points and a plus-7 in three games last week. He's averaging two points a game this season with 78 in 39 games.

Darren Dietz, Saskatoon (Canadiens) -- drafted 138th overall in 2011

Dietz achieved a first in his career with a four-goal outburst in a 7-4 win over Swift Current on Friday. He managed to score the game's first goal, the winner and the insurance marker. He had one more assist in the other three outings.

Incredible hockey feat

In a Memorial Cup game back in 1979 the Brandon Wheat Kings' Brad McCrimmon set the standard for hockey ironmen by logging 60-plus minutes.
