Brett Thompson scored twice and added an assist Monday as the Sarnia Sting routed the London Knights 6-2 in the Ontario Hockey League.

"It was probably the biggest gut-check as a team," Sting head coach Jacques Beaulieu said. "We challenged the kids and they had to bring their best today, a team concept first and they responded really well."

JP Anderson made 32 saves for the win, while Michael Houser took the loss, allowing six goals on 27 shots.

Elsewhere in the OHL it was: Erie 4 Belleville 1; Kitchener 6 Guelph 1; Ottawa 2 Kingston 1; Mississauga 3 Sudbury 1; Barrie 6 Oshawa 1 and Brampton 3 Peterborough 1.

At Sarnia, Ont., Ryan Spooner had a goal and an assist for the Sting (29-21-6), who played without seven regulars, including their top four defencemen.

Nail Yakupov, Connor Murphy and Daniel Nikandrov had the other goals for the Sting as Sarnia won for the third time in its last four.

Max Domi and Josh Anderson replied for the Knights (42-13-1), who have lost two of three.

Otters 4 Bulls 1

At Belleville, Ont., Sondre Olden scored twice to lead Erie to a win over the Bulls.

Connor Brown and Kris Grant also had goals for the Otters (9-42-5), who scored three times over a 1:16 span in the first period.

Jake Worrad got the lone goal for the Bulls (27-28-1).

Rangers 6 Storm 1

At Guelph, Ont., Michael Catenacci had two goals and two assists as Kitchener routed the Storm.

Tobias Rieder added a goal and three assists for the Rangers (37-17-2), while Ben Thomson had a goal and two assists and Andrew Crescenzi scored and added an assist.

Jason Dickinson had the only goal for Guelph (23-27-5).

67's 2 Frontenacs 1

At Kingston, Ont., Petr Mrazek made 33 saves as Ottawa defeated the Frontenacs.

Tyler Toffoli and Cody Ceci had the goals for Ottawa (36-15-6), while Mike Cazzola picked up two assists.

Nathan Cull had the only goal for Kingston (18-33-6).

Majors 3 Wolves 1

At Mississauga, Ont., Jamie Wise scored twice on the power play to carry the St. Michael's Majors to victory over Sudbury.

Riley Brace also scored and added an assist for Mississauga (25-25-7).

Michael Sgarbosa scored his 40th of the season to open the scoring for the Wolves (30-21-5), who have lost three straight games.

Colts 6 Generals 1

At Oshawa, Ont., Ivan Telegin had a hat trick, including two power-play goals as Barrie completed a home-and-home sweep of the Generals.

Defenceman Ryan O'Connor and captain Colin Behenna also scored with the man advantage for the Colts (32-20-4), while Anthony Camara rounded out the scoring.

Lucas Lessio had the only goal for Oshawa (26-27-5).

Battalion 3 Petes 1

At Peterborough, Ont., Matej Machovsky made 20 saves as Brampton defeated the Petes 3-1.

Brandon Robinson, Patrik Machac and Derek Froats had the goals for Brampton (31-18-9), while Brett Mackie added two assists.

Derek Mathers had the only goal for Peterborough (25-27-6), which got 29 saves from Mike Morrison.
