EDMONTON – Cole Benson had a pair of goals and Tristan Jarry made 26 saves as the Edmonton Oil Kings beat the visiting Brandon Wheat Kings 5-2 on Monday in Western Hockey League action.
Mads Eller scored once and set up two more for the Oil Kings (4-3-0) while Edgars Kulda and Andrew Koep added a goal apiece.
Rihards Bukarts scored once for the Wheat Kings (6-2-1) and also set up Eric Roy’s goal. Peter Queneville tacked on two assists.
Brandon’s Jordan Papirny turned aside 27-of-31 shots in defeat.
Edmonton went 0 for 6 on the power play while the Wheat Kings scored twice on six chances with the man advantage.
