Rockets blank Broncos to extend win streak to 7

KELOWNA, B.C. — The Kelowna Rockets extended their season-opening win streak to seven games on Tuesday by beating the visiting Swift Current Broncos 4-0 in Western Hockey League action.

Carter Rigby had two goals for the Rockets (7-0-0), who are the only remaining team in the WHL yet to lose a game this season, while Jackson Whistle kicked away 18 shots for the shutout.

Cole Linaker and Justin Kirkland also scored for Kelowna.

Landon Bow made 22 saves for the Broncos (4-5-0), who lost for the first time in three outings.

Both clubs went 0 for 2 on the power play.

AMERICANS 4 RAIDERS 1

PRINCE ALBERT, Sask. Vladislav Lukin had a pair of goals and Eric Comrie stopped 43 shots as Tri-City toppled the Raiders.

Brian Williams and Parker Wotherspoon also scored for the Americans (4-3-0) while Justin Gutierrez tacked on two assists.

Craig Leverton had the lone goal for Prince Albert (3-3-0). Nick McBride started in net for the Raiders but was replaced after allowing three goals on 18 shots thorugh 28:52 of action. Rylan Parenteau turned away 12-of-13 shots in relief.
