Conner Bleackley is keeping the Red Deer Rebels near the top of the Western Hockey League standings.
Bleackley scored twice, including a power-play goal, as Red Deer downed the Saskatoon Blades 4-2 on Tuesday in WHL action.
Grayson Pawlenchuk had a goal for the Rebels (4-1-0) as well, while Dominik Volek put the puck into an empty net with 10 seconds left to play.
Alex Moodie made 30 saves for the win.
David Nemecek and Collin Valcourt supplied the offence for Saskatoon (0-4-0), while Alex Moodie stopped 31 of 34 shots.
Red Deer went 1 for 5 on the power play and the Blades scored once on four man advantages.
The Rebels are now in third in the WHL’s Eastern Conference, behind the Medicine Hat Tigers in the Central Division.

MEDICINE HAT, Alta. — Defenceman Tommy Vannelli’s power-play goal in the second period was the eventual winner as the Tigers dropped Moose Jaw.
Steven Owre, Cole Sanford and Kyle Becker also scored for Medicine Hat (4-1-0), while Marek Langhamer made 33 saves for the win.
Sam Fioretti and Tanner Eberle had goals for the Warriors (2-3-0). Justin Paulic turned away 31 shots.

PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. — Ty Edmonds stopped all 31 shots he faced as the Cougars shut out Victoria.
Zach Pochiro and Klarc Wilson provided the goals for Prince George (3-3-0).
Coleman Vollrath turned aside 25 shots for the Royals (2-4-0).

KENNEWICK, Wash. — Eric Comrie made 30 saves to earn the shutout as Tri-City blanked Seattle.
Brian Williams had a hat trick for the Americans (2-3-1).
Justin Myles stopped 28 shots with the Thunderbirds (3-2-0).
