Chase notches 2 goals in Royals’ win vs Oil Kings

EDMONTON — Greg Chase scored twice — including the winner 3:24 into overtime — as the Victoria Royals extended their win streak to five games with a 4-3 victory over the host Edmonton Oil Kings on Sunday in Western Hockey League action.

Alex Forsberg and Jack Walker each had a goal and an assist for the Royals (25-19-3) while Justin Paulic kicked out 37-of-40 shots for the win.

The Oil Kings (22-18-5) trailed 3-1 late in the third period before Lane Bauer and Luke Bertolucci scored 10 seconds apart to force extra time. David Koch also scored for Edmonton.

Tristan Jarry turned aside 26-of-40 shots for the Oil Kings.

Victoria went 2 for 7 on the power play while Edmonton scored once on seven chances with the man advantage.

HITMEN 5 PATS 2

CALGARY — Adam Tambellini registered a hat trick and Mack Shields made 31 saves as the Hitmen toppled Regina.

Connor Rankin scored once and set up two more for Calgary (24-17-5), which halted a three-game slide. Keegan Kanzig added the other goal.

Braden Christoffer and Austin Wagner supplied the offence for the Pats (26-16-4), who got a 19-save outing from Daniel Wapple.
